Editorial Policy

This page explains how Baseball Place is made, in plain terms, so you can decide how much weight to give what you read here. Last updated October 3, 2026.

Who runs this site

Baseball Place is an independently operated website. It is not affiliated with Major League Baseball, Little League International, PONY Baseball and Softball, Babe Ruth League, USA Baseball or any team or league. Questions and corrections go through the contact page.

How articles are made

  • Articles are drafted with AI. Each one is drafted by an AI language model (Anthropic’s Claude) from a topic list we maintain, and published through an automated process. The “Baseball Place Editorial Team” byline refers to that process, not to a named human author.
  • Automated checks run before publishing. They look for invented statistics, made-up quotes, claims of endorsement by leagues or teams, and prose that repeats itself. Passing a check is not the same as being verified: an automated check cannot confirm that a historical detail is true.
  • Illustrations are AI-generated. Photos on articles are illustrative images made with an image model. We do not generate images of real players, and we do not use team logos or uniforms.
  • We are refreshing older articles. In October 2026 we began re-checking articles against primary sources (a league’s own rules, a team’s own pages, the Hall of Fame) and adding source links. Articles that have been re-checked say so at the bottom, with the date.

How the tools and data tables are made

The youth baseball tools and comparison tables are compiled from the governing bodies’ own published pages: Little League International, PONY Baseball and Softball, and Babe Ruth League (which runs Cal Ripken Baseball). Every figure is linked to the page it came from and shows a “last checked” date. When we are unsure of a figure, we leave it out rather than guess. If your local league’s rule differs from what we show, your local league decides: Little League, PONY and Babe Ruth all let local leagues set some of their own age ranges and field options.

What this site is not

Nothing here is coaching, medical or safety advice. For arm health, injury or conditioning questions, talk to a certified coach, an athletic trainer or a physician. Pitch-count rules differ by league and age; use your league’s current rulebook.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, tell us through the contact page and choose “Correction or factual concern.” We check the claim against a primary source, fix the page, and note the change at the bottom of the page when it affects a figure or a historical claim.

Advertising and money

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads do not influence what we write or which gear is mentioned, and we do not accept payment for favorable coverage or player rankings. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies work.

About what you read here. Everything on Baseball Place is general information and our own editorial opinion. We research carefully and we say when the evidence is unclear, but we can be wrong, things change, and no article can know your particular situation. Please do your own research and make your own judgement rather than treating anything here as the final word. Prices, products and specifications around baseball, gear and youth sport change constantly, and what suits one person will not suit another. Check current details yourself, and where a decision involves real money, safety or something you cannot undo, it is worth confirming with a coach or the equipment manufacturer before you act.
